Over the counter acne products and acne acid salicylic

For most of us that take pride in the way we look, the thought of suffering with acne or Zits, may at first seem awful. Treatments however, are slowly improving. Research into the causes, and possible treatments, for the condition is ongoing. Gradually more effective topical treatments are being discovered and made available. Although the number of acne skin care products and treatments might at first seem endless, they can actually be categorized into three areas: Preventative medication, treatments that do not require a prescription and prescription only treatments.
Acne is most common during adolescence, affecting more than 85% of teenagers, and frequently continues into adult hood. Most of the time acne will disappear by themselves at the end of adolescence but if acne becomes severe, it should be treated to prevent scarring. If acne appear in adulthood may be a sign of hormonal imbalance or drug toxicity.
Most men do not wear makeup but many will use male cosmetics which are usually applied to the face. Some of the male cosmetics that men should try to avoid are products like aftershave lotions and splashes that may contain certain chemicals that can cause acne. Other products that should be avoided include: shaving cream, hair gel, hair spray, facial cleansers, shaving gel and facial toners. All of these products may cause an acne breakout. It is a good idea for men who are prone to acne to visit their doctor or dermatologist who can advise them on proper skin care products that can be used on a regular basis without irritating the skin.
